Who we are
YOUNECATE exists to empower the youth of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by addressing two critical challenges: limited access to global opportunities and the need for sustainable agricultural practices. Founded in 2017 by a team of passionate young people led by the well-known Jonathan MAGALA, YOUNECATE emerged from the realization that young Congolese were underrepresented on international platforms. At that time, only 3 out of 10 could speak English, restricting their access to scholarships and job opportunities. YOUNECATE was established to provide language training and equip youth with the skills needed to thrive globally, giving them a voice in international conversations. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic exposed another pressing issue: food insecurity. With borders closed and food prices skyrocketing, YOUNECATE expanded its focus to include Agriculture and Environment. We now equip communities with sustainable agricultural solutions that combat hunger while promoting environmental protection. Today, YOUNECATE is officially recognized for its commitment to promoting equity, secularism, and inclusion. Our mission is to turn the untapped potential of Congolese youth into real-world solutions, fostering resilient communities where young people lead in sustainable development and global engagement. YOUNECATE is more than an organization; it is a movement dedicated to shaping a brighter, more inclusive future for the DRC

Expansion
Since its establishment, YOUNECATE has experienced remarkable growth and diversification. Initially focused solely on education, we recognized the need to expand our services to better address community needs. By 2022, our operations increased from one to three locations within Tshopo province, and by 2023, we further expanded to five locations, including Ituri and Kinshasa. In the agricultural sector, we inform, train, and support young entrepreneurs in sustainable initiatives aimed at combating unemployment and food insecurity. Our innovative projects include recycling plastic waste into eco-friendly pavers and converting biodegradable waste into animal feed. Additionally, we supply the local market with 100% organic products, promoting food security and reducing health risks associated with chemical fertilizers. Today, YOUNECATE English Training School is recognized as a leading institution in Tshopo province, having trained over 1,300 individuals frm various social classes. Our sustainable agriculture initiatives have inspired many to adopt environmentally friendly practices. Recognized for our professionalism and commitment to excellence, YOUNECATE is on the way of establishing numerous partnerships with organizations that align with our vision. Under the leadership of Jonathan MAGALA, we remain dedicated to empowering young Congolese and promoting environmental stewardship for a sustainable future.
